Walter Astral is a duo consisting of Tristan Thomas, aka Zaspéro and former captain of Ovhal 44, and Tino Gelli, vocalist of Polycool.
Although they draw inspiration from vastly different musical worlds, they share a common fascination with fantasy and the absurd. The result? Grooves woven into hypnotic, almost magical soundscapes.
Their music lies somewhere between psychedelic pop and acid techno. Tristan's acid bass and drum machines meet Tino's vintage guitar and a banjo so old it sounds like a saz. Their hybrid style is inspired by artists such as King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Flavien Berger, Altın Gün, and Mehmet Aslan.
Their first EP, Hyperdruide, was recorded in an old farmhouse nestled in the hills of Sancerre, France. Each track is inspired by nature and explores life's big questions—birth, death, creativity, and love.
Walter Astral is like a cosmic explorer, drifting through parallel universes and diving into wormholes hidden in giant sequoia trees.
Stars living in trees, men resembling candles, witches, and druids—these are just some of the beings accompanying him on this wild, transcendental journey.
