X2, 21 år with extreme sports!
X2 Festival brings together extreme sports athletes, adventurers, and audiences in the heart of the Sunnmøre Alps every year. What started as a small ski touring competition up two mountains has grown into one of the most unique extreme sports festivals in the country.
Over several days, the mountains, fjords, and skies are filled with activities, competitions, and experiences – from skiing and paragliding to cycling, running, and concerts. X2 is about passion, nature, challenges, and community.

Festivalhistorie
2005
The concept is still being developed: a winter sports festival rooted in ski mountaineering / randonnée. The name X2 comes from the very first competition, which was a randonnée race up two mountains.
The festival was held for the first time with great success at Nivane and Saudehornet.
More than 1,000 paying guests visit the festival area, which is still held at Studenthuset Rokken.
The festival expands its sports program with the freeride competition XFree. The festival also establishes a partnership with Studenthuset Rokken.
The festival establishes XFree, XCreek, XTind, and XBoard as regular events. The evening programme also grows bigger, with artists and DJs.
The festival introduces XAir for the first time – paragliding.
Sponsors also become more important!
Acro flying and a freeride mountain biking competition are added alongside the regular events (XFree, XCreek, XTind, and XBoard).
